Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various commercial and industrial structures. This role requires a strong understanding of construction painting, restoration, and industrial painting processes, along with excellent attention to detail and safety standards. The Commercial Painter will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure high-quality results that meet specifications and deadlines. A background in construction experience, blueprint reading, and the use of hand tools and power tools is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other tools
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine project requirements
- Perform restoration work on existing surfaces to improve appearance and durability
- Use rigging techniques to safely access high or hard-to-reach areas during painting projects
- Operate power tools and hand tools efficiently while maintaining safety protocols
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding project progress or issues
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials
Experience
- Have WHMIS/CSTS training
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, or commercial/industrial painting projects
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution
- Familiarity with restoration processes and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform rigging tasks safely at elevated heights or in confined spaces
- Strong customer service skills when interacting with clients or project stakeholders
- Experience in caulking, surface preparation, and working with various coatings is preferred
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during multiple projects
- Construction experience including carpentry or related trades is a plus but not mandatory
