Automotive Technician (Apprentice / 1st / 2nd / 3rd Year) – Sherwood Park Volkswagen

Job Summary
We're looking for technicians with solid mechanical knowledge and hands-on repair experience to join our team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, working efficiently with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, and delivering the kind of quality and professionalism our customers expect.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring all work meets dealership standards
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and components
- Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and customer interactions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Currently registered as an Apprentice (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year) or certified as a Red Seal Journeyman Automotive Technician
- Must have own tools
- Positive work attitude and strong team mentality
- Willingness to work weekends as needed
- Proven experience in automotive repair with a strong understanding of mechanical systems
- Ability to lift heavy objects as required for vehicle maintenance and repair tasks
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately using schematics
- Previous dealership experience preferred but not mandatory
- Valid driver's license required; additional automotive certifications are an asset
