Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other machinery essential for large-scale construction projects. This role involves working on diverse construction sites, performing excavation tasks, and supporting various paving and drilling operations. A strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with Caterpillar equipment are highly desirable to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling equipment to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Assist with site development activities such as paving, grading, and trenching.
- Maintain accurate operation logs and report any mechanical issues promptly for repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with project managers and other construction personnel to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Support additional tasks such as mechanical troubleshooting or minor repairs when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other heavy equipment in a construction setting.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred or required depending on project needs.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is highly advantageous.
- Ability to operate horizontal drilling equipment and support paving operations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads and working in various weather conditions.
