Park Avenue Building Services located at 115 – 8331 Eastlake Drive, Burnaby, BC V5A 4W2 is looking for a Rope Access Technician to perform waterproofing and restoration work.
The salary is $37.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on experience, working an average of 40 hours per week. Our RAT works on various project sites across Lower Mainland. This is a full-time, permanent, year-round position. Extended health and dental benefits are available after three (3) months of employment.
Our ideal candidates must a minimum of Level 1 RAT certification from SPRAT or IRATA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rope access to hard-to-reach areas without scaffolding or a work platform.
- Descend, ascend and transverse ropes for access and work while suspended by harness.
- Perform waterproofing and restoration work including: building envelope inspection, roof inspection, leak investigation, sealant repair, painting/membrane work, concrete repair, etc.
- Document work with written reports and photographs.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
- Follow established safety rules and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 1 RAT certification from IRATA or SPRAT.
- Additional work at heights certificate is an asset (fall protection, aerial lift, suspended stages training, etc.).
- Must have experience using grinders, drills and pressure washers.
- Prior experience in waterproofing/restoration is an asset, but on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Construction industry experience also an asset.
- Must have strong communications skills (English is the language used at work), a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Must have access to own reliable transportation as work sites can be anywhere across Lower Mainland. Valid BC driver’s license is preferred.
