Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the overall food service operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety and cleanliness, with a willingness to learn and assist in meal preparation. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided to ensure you succeed in your role.
Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to maintain cleanliness standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as meal assembly and basic food handling under supervision
- Support kitchen staff with organizing supplies and restocking items as needed
- Ensure the dishwashing area is clean, organized, and complies with health and safety regulations
- Help with general kitchen cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal
- Follow proper food safety procedures during all food handling activities
- Assist in serving meals when required, ensuring timely delivery to guests or customers
- Maintain a positive attitude and teamwork spirit in a fast-paced environment
Skills
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety procedures
- Experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy hours
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting pots or cleaning supplies
- Strong communication skills and willingness to follow instructions
- Basic cooking or meal preparation skills are advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific duties
