Intermediate Aquatic Biologist
Bowron Environmental Group (Bowron) is an 100% Canadian owned and operated environmental consulting company focused on providing services to the energy, mining and civil infrastructure sectors.
Our Ecological Resources Division is looking for dedicated and motivated professionals to join our team as Intermediate Aquatic Biologists. The position is primarily field based in relation to the execution of assessment and monitoring work out of our head office in Calgary, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities are included, but are not limited to:
- Conduct aquatic habitat assessments
- Execute water quality monitoring and fish salvage field programs
- Perform fish sampling programs including electrofishing, gill netting and/or other acceptable methods
- Support in the preparation of technical reports, plans and procedures, and;
- Work outdoors in challenging environments and remote locations.
Required Skills / Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who maintain the following:
- A minimum of three (3) years of related field experience
- Post secondary education related to environmental sciences or an equivalent area of study
- Professional designation (P. Biol / R.P.Bio) is considered an asset
- An understanding of both provincial and federal criteria, guidelines and directives related to Alberta and British Columbia
- Strong multitasking skills. Self proficient planning and organizational skills
- Interpersonal motivation and professional drive focused on exceeding customer expectations
- Excellent communication skills; and,
- A valid driver's license.
