Job Summary:
At Jones Truck & Gear we take pride in good workmanship and hard work. We are looking for a young individual who is interested in starting a job in the On-highway Truck and Transport trade. This opportunity comes with the immediate enrolment into the apprenticeship program, where you will be guided by our strong crew to build skills pertaining to this line of work. We specialize in Gear Train work and perform tasks related to safety and maintenance of on Highway Trucks and Trailers.
Job Duties & Task:
- You'll be working along side young capable individuals.
- Learning tooling and simple task that relate to the operation of On-highway and some Offroad equipment.
- Primarly you will be working on repairs orientated around On-highway Trucks and Trailers not involved in dangerous transportation of goods.
- Shop cleanliness / tidiness and basic shop operation skills are taught to help keep the working environment safe.
- We offer initial safety training related to MSDS and WHIMIS in the workplace.
Job Requirements:
- Basic mechanic skills and understanding of tooling is helpful for all starting apprentices.
- Basic electrical skills and understanding of safety is a crucial requirement as it keeps both you and your fellow worker out of harms way.
- Fluent in speaking English and capable of writing legibly in English.
- Reliable source of transportation and holder of a Valid Drivers License.
