SENIOR SECRETARY - SECONDARY
SCHOOL: Opeongo High School, Douglas
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week
TERM: Permanent, full-time
RATE OF PAY: $35.90 - $36.71 (Group 9)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional post-secondary program of over one year and up to two years or equivalent in a related discipline. Comprehensively use software including student information system, spreadsheets, word-processing and web based applications. It is desirable that the candidate has a general knowledge of the Board’s operation, routines, personnel and policies. Demonstrate integrity, initiative and enthusiasm in results. Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing. The candidate must have the ability to deal professionally and effectively with staff, parents, students and the general public.
Over six months, up to and including one year of related experience.
DUTIES:
A key member of the office team, under the direction of the Office Manager, the primary function of the Senior Secretary – Secondary is to assist with the effective daily operation of the office by providing administrative and secretarial support to staff, and by assisting students, parents and the public. He / she also assumes some of the Office Manager’s responsibilities in his / her absence.
Hiring will follow the requirements outlined in the CUPE 1321 Collective Agreement and the RCDSB Administrative Procedures. Members of the bargaining unit will be given first consideration. The Board reserves the right not to fill a position.
