RNS Healthcare Services Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work closely with our licensed physiotherapists to provide support and assistance in delivering effective rehabilitation services to clients within Jacksons Point, Mount Albert, Keswick, Town of East Gwillimbury Town of Georgina, Town of Stouffville. Queensville, Aurora areas. You will play a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes and contributing to their overall well-being.
A Day-to-Day Look at the Role:
- Assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans and exercises prescribed for clients.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all necessary equipment is readily available.
- Guide and instruct patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Monitor and record patient progress during treatment sessions.
- Provide support during manual therapy techniques, such as joint mobilization and soft tissue massage.
- Assist with the application of modalities, including heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient information and treatment details.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
What you will need to Succeed:
- Diploma from an accredited community college: Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) program.
- Previous experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercises.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Clear Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector.
- 1-year (minimum) experience in a clinical or a homecare setting
- Available to work a flexible work schedule (days, evenings and weekends as required)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle are requirements of the position.
