Job Summary
SynDax Developments is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator who is also comfortable operating skid steers, dozers, packers and other earthmoving equipment. A valid Class 1 driver’s licence and experience driving dump trucks are required.
This is a hands-on position for a versatile operator who can move between equipment and drive dump trucks as project requirements change. Our work includes commercial earthworks, excavation, grading, demolition, site preparation, trucking and material handling.
Duties
- Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders and other heavy machinery safely and accurately.
- Drive dump trucks and truck-and-pup combinations to transport soil, aggregate and other construction materials.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, driver logs and transportation paperwork.
- Perform excavation, trenching, grading, paving and site-preparation work according to project specifications.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Follow all company and site safety requirements and maintain a clean work environment.
- Coordinate with team members to complete project work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections and work completed.
Experience and Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Class 1 driver’s licence with a clean and acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Proven experience driving dump trucks and truck-and-pup combinations.
- Proven experience operating excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, graders and other heavy construction equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy-equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Previous construction experience involving excavation, grading, trucking or paving.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar, Komatsu or similar equipment is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle, heavy-equipment and construction-site safety requirements.
- Ability and willingness to move between equipment operation, truck driving and general site duties as required.

Pay: $36.00-$40.00 per hour
