The Owen Sound Family Health Team (OSFHT) is committed to improving and maintaining the health of the patients we serve through a team of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacist, Mental Health Services, Occupational Therapist, and Dietitians. Based on local health and community needs, we provide access to innovative, high quality and comprehensive primary health care programs and services that are based on the needs of the patients we serve.
We are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join our team in the role of Data Analyst, reporting to the Executive Director. This position involves coordinating reporting requirements, supporting the building of efficient electronic medical record (EMR) queries for data collection and conducting regular audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Works with the Executive Director, Managers, to coordinate the collection of data to fulfill the reporting requirements to Ontario Health.
- Building EMR queries to collect measurement information.
- Support in the preparation of detailed reports for regular meetings with the Board of Directors and Ontario Health.
- Implement best practices for data management and auditing processes to identify and rectify any discrepancies or data quality issues. Address any queries or concerns from management related to such data reports.
- Participate in working groups and committees related to Programs & Services to develop data management best practices.
- Liaise with GBOHT digital lead regarding implementation of new or pilot initiatives.
- Assist with Quarterly Reporting for Ontario Health (EMR searches and OH reporting template).
- Provide support and coaching to OSFHT providers to maximize the effective and efficient use of the EMR (Telus PS Suites) and related patient engagement software (ie. Ocean).
- Development and maintenance of EMR forms, toolbars, and documentation.
- Assist FHT staff in collecting and interpreting data / outcome measures as a part of decision making.
- Leverage resources within EMR and patient engagement software to introduce relevant tools and technology.
- Complete privacy audits at the direction of the Privacy Auditor
- Management of the OSFHT website and social media accounts
Specific Education / Job Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (Health Informatics, Data Management, Information Technology, Health Sciences, Statistics, Business Administration) or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of related experience, preferably in a health setting.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (such as Telus PS Suite), data querying, and reporting tools preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to develop relationships with partners.
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information, including Personal Health Information.

Compensation: $34.86 per hour, benefits, RSP, Paid Education Days, and Paid Personal Leave days
