Trillium College is seeking qualified instructors to teach in the Medical Office Assistant program. This role involves delivering approved curriculum in accordance with the Career Colleges Act, 2005 (Ontario) and internal academic policies.
Position Summary
The Instructor is responsible for teaching course material, supporting student learning, evaluating student progress, and maintaining accurate academic documentation. Instruction must align with approved curriculum and regulatory expectations for Ontario career colleges.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach course material following the approved syllabus and curriculum guidelines.
- Use instructional methods appropriate for adult learners.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and practical assessments.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades.
- Support a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment.
- Comply with all institutional policies and the requirements of the Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in the subject area being taught
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the field being taught
- Ability to deliver curriculum, assess student learning, and manage a classroom effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching or training adults.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with learning management systems or classroom technology.
Class Schedules
Day Classes: Monday–Thursday (Fridays off)
The Trillium College Medical Office Assistant Program is registered as “hybrid” delivery. Students only attend at the campus for First Aid certification. The rest of the program is on-line. While instructors can teach from home, they are required to have a professional environment including but not limited to; a quiet professional work place, appropriate camera and microphone as well as a computer that is compatible with Zoom and fast enough internet to support all classroom requirements. There must be proper lighting and all staff & faculty that work from home are still bound by the Trillium College Dress Code.
Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
