Job Description
Our client is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Cost Controller to support cost management and reporting. This role will play a key part in the implementation of a new ERP accounting and project management system, while also supporting costing, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Control
- Monitor costs against budgets, forecasts, and contracts
- Track commitments, actuals, and cost-to-complete across projects
- Identify and report cost variances and potential risks
ERP Implementation
- Support implementation of a new ERP system for accounting and project management
- Assist with data migration, system setup, and data integrity
- Act as a system super-user, supporting internal teams
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare ad-hoc cost, productivity, and financial analysis
- Support ongoing improvements to reporting tools and templates
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Project Managers and Finance teams
- Provide basic training and support on cost systems and reporting tools
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Finance or Accounting
- 2–4 years of experience in project accounting or financial analysis
- Exposure to ERP or project management systems (Maestro is an asset)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
Preferred Experience
- Construction or project-based environment
- Familiarity with cost codes, WBS, commitments, and change orders
- Experience working with ERP systems
