Gesstwood Camp is offering part time/seasonal position for our Camp Facilitation Team.
This job will include promoting self-confidence, positive group dynamics, and the expansion of participants problem solving abilities. Applicants must be well organized, compassionate, exceptional communicators and have a willingness to talk in front of large groups of people.
The facilitator will be responsible for insuring the safety of each client while attending the camp
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate groups of various ages and abilities on both low and high challenge ropes course elements.
Properly maintain and inspect equipment. Interact with various agency and school personnel, families, children, adolescents and the general public.
Other duties include program preparation and organizing program documentation. You will also be required to facilitate other camp activities such as archery, craft building, nature walks, camp games, etc.
Position requires flexible schedule with varying hours and some weekend work. We are currently looking for applicants who are available for the upcoming Fall season. Applicants must have proper transportation, as the camp is not within proximity to public transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Degree.
Interest and enthusiasm for the outdoor adventure experience along with a respect for safety.
Experience with Experiential/Outdoor Education preferred but not required.
CPR and First Aid certification will be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work outdoors for long periods of time in diverse weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and move weight of 50lbs.
Must be confident and comfortable working at heights of 20-40ft
Ability to climb ladders, poles and trees.
