About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the production team to ensure quality products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This hands-on leadership role supports production employees, coordinates workflow, addresses operational issues, and ensures adherence to company quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing leader who can motivate employees, maintain productivity, and support continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced production environment.
Team Leadership

Supervise, coach, and support production employees.

Conduct daily production meetings and communicate priorities.

Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.

Ensure employees adhere to the Company Code and Values

Assist with employee training and onboarding.
Production Operations
-
Coordinate daily production activities to meet customer delivery requirements.

Monitor workflow and staffing to ensure efficient production.

Address production issues and escalate concerns as required.

Ensure production schedules are followed and deadlines are met.

Support inventory control and material flow within the department.
Quality & Safety
-
Ensure products meet established quality standards.

Work with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve production issues.

Promote compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

Work in compliance with the applicable safety laws and regulations

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
Continuous Improvement
-
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and workflow.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist in maintaining work instructions and standard operating procedures.

Support efforts to reduce waste and improve operational performance.
Reporting & Communication

Track daily production performance and key operational metrics.

Communicate production issues, staffing concerns, and operational challenges to management.

Prepare basic reports related to productivity, quality, and attendance.

Participate in regular management meetings.
Qualifications
-
3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
-
Proven ability to lead and motivate production teams.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Experience working in a production-focused environment with quality standards.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic production reporting.
-
Experience in medical manufacturing, custom manufacturing, orthotics, or similar industries is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising 10-30 employees.

Experience with production scheduling and workflow management.

Familiarity with continuous improvement principles.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment requiring attention to quality and customer service.
Working Conditions

Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and chemical odors.

Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the facility.
-
Regular interaction with production equipment and manufacturing processes.

Required PPE includes CSA-approved footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and gloves as required.
