We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Private Swim Instructor to provide swimming lessons for a small group of 2–4 teens ages 13-15 during the summer (July 20-August 19)
The instructor will be responsible for selecting appropriate lesson locations (e.g., recreation centres, pools, lakes, or other suitable swimming venues) and developing a safe, engaging program that helps participants build confidence and improve their swimming safety, strength, endurance and technique.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead swim lessons for 2–4 teenagers.
- Teach fundamental swimming techniques and water safety skills.
- Help participants improve swimming endurance, strength, and confidence in the water.
- Select appropriate lesson locations and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning needs.
- Communicate lesson plans and progress updates as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching swimming lessons or coaching youth.
- Current swimming instructor certification preferred (e.g., Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, or equivalent).
- Current First Aid certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a small group safely.
