Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Log Scaler to join our forestry team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately measuring, classifying, and recording logs to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment. Candidates should possess a valid BC Interior Log Scaling license and a valid driver's license. The Log Scaler plays a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and safety at work sites.
Responsibilities
- Measure and classify logs accurately using standard industry methods and tools
- Record data meticulously for inventory management and reporting purposes
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Assist in site inspections to monitor safety compliance and environmental standards
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate log processing activities
Skills
- Proficiency in operating Scaling software for data collection
- Skilled in the use of computers, hand held data collectors, and maintenance procedures
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to logging operations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills for accurate recordkeeping and reporting
