Summary
We are seeking an Optometric Assistant to join our team in Oshawa. Be an important member of a team in ensuring a wonderful and memorable patient experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, highly motivated, reliable, friendly person to work in our eye clinic and optical dispensary. This will be an exciting fast-paced work environment, and you will learn new skills as you take on additional responsibilities in your growth in this role.
Responsibilities
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, appointment reminders, checking in patients, patient referrals, and handling insurance verifications.
- Preliminary testing of patients prior to Dr. examination.
- Assist with eyewear frame selection, recommendations on lens choices, and task-specific eyewear.
- Assist with OHIP billings, insurance direct billing, and lab orders.
- Maintain a professional, efficient, clean environment.
- Skills
- Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred, preferably in eye care. Alternately, experience in a high end retail setting will be considered.
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to assist with patients from toddlers to seniors, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently
