Express Employment Professionals is conducting a confidential search for a Business Development Specialist on behalf of a growing manufacturing company in the Guelph area.
This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys managing accounts, growing customer partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities within an existing client base. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of customers while working cross-functionally to ensure a seamless customer experience and continued account growth.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Business Development
- Manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts.
- Build strong, long-term relationships through proactive communication and account management.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
- Drive customer retention and support long-term revenue growth.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
Sales & Order Management
- Manage customer orders from initial inquiry through completion.
- Monitor order progress and communicate updates proactively.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly while maintaining strong business relationships.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system.
Collaboration & Performance
- Partner with graphics, production, logistics, and accounting teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Track account performance, customer feedback, and sales activity.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen customer relationships and business growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in account management, inside sales, business development, or client success.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying growth opportunities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Manufacturing or distribution experience is considered an asset.
