Job Summary
This is a high-potential Manufacturing Leadership Development Program designed to prepare ambitious early-career professionals for future Department Manager roles. Over 12–18 months, you’ll gain hands-on experience across key manufacturing functions, develop your leadership skills, and progressively take on greater responsibility. Ideal for someone with 2–4 years of manufacturing experience who wants to accelerate their career, lead people, drive results, and make a real impact. Initial placements will likely be in Mississauga or Cambridge, with flexibility to relocate within Ontario as leadership opportunities arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, motivate, and develop front-line employees and emerging leaders.
- Drive performance across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Employee Engagement.
- Gain exposure to multiple manufacturing functions and understand how they work together.
- Lead daily operational activities, problem-solving, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Support and lead Lean, continuous improvement, and change management initiatives.
- Build strong relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, HR, and other functions.
- Hold yourself and others accountable for delivering results.
- Learn to navigate difficult conversations, influence others, and create a high-performing team culture.
- Take on increasing leadership responsibility throughout the development program.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or a related environment.
- Experience in Production, Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, Warehouse/Logistics, or similar is highly relevant.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people, projects, crews, or teams — formally or through influence.
- Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Proven ability to motivate others, build relationships, and drive results.
- Comfortable having difficult conversations and holding others accountable.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ambition and desire to take on greater responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
- Lean, Six Sigma, food/beverage, CPG, or unionized manufacturing experience is an asset.
