Journeyman or Apprentice Millwright
For over 60 years, United Gear has specialized in large industrial gearbox refurbishment and enhancement. We manufacture internal and external gears, including spur, helical, bevel and worm. United Gear has set itself apart by providing the highest quality gearbox refurbishment services supporting Western Canada’s mining, Alberta oil field equipment, forestry, pulp and paper, and wind power industries.
The recent expansion of our sales territory has increased the volume in our rebuild department. We are looking for technically competent individuals interested in joining our team in North Vancouver, BC.
Successful Applicants Must Be:
- A Certificate of Qualification (red seal) as a Millwright, Machinist, or HD Mechanic, or an indentured 2nd year apprentice in these same trades.
- Located in the lower mainland, and preferably close to the North Shore.
- In good physical condition, able to lift 50 lbs. (Check with Worker’s Compensation Board).
- Equipped with basic mechanical and measuring tools.
- Able to measure using inside and outside micrometers.
- A team player.
- Flexible for shift work.
Credit Will Be Given to Individuals That Have:
- Previous experience dismantling and assembling industrial gearboxes.
- Component rebuilding experience.
