Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team for the start of the 2026-2027 school year beginning on August 26th. The ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to safety while ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of passengers. This role involves driving the school 15 passenger vans to transport children to and from school for 2 hours for the morning route, and 2 hours for the afternoon route. There may also be additional hours available for field trip transportation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a safe driving record.
- Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding schedules, routes, and any changes in service.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of daily trips, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is preferred.
- Strong writing skills for maintaining accurate records and reports.
- The successful candidate must have or be able to receive a vulnerable sector police check.
- The successful candidate must hold a Class 4 license in good standing, and provide DWA with a Driver's abstract that represent a safe driving record.
