Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals in need of care
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Must be willing to commute throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes including Kirkfield, Lindsay, Coboconk, Minden, Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Woodville and surrounding areas.
Qualifications:
✅ Successful completion of a recognized PSW or DSW Program, Nursing Student or foreign trained Nurse .
✅ Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus.
✅ Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
✅ Familiarity with medication administration protocols
✅ Valid PSW certification or equivalent.
✅ CPR and First Aid certification.
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✅ Ensure the client's safety needs are met by utilizing equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
✅ Operate within the boundaries of your own expertise and understanding
✅ Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✅Vehicle/Valid driver’s license required and must be willing to travel to remote locations
✅ Reliable transportation to travel to clients’ homes.
Please note that this position requires working every other weekend.
