About the Opportunity

ONIT Energy Ltd. is seeking a Commercial Energy Contracts Specialist to join our growing Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys combining administrative precision with analytical thinking while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate administration and processing of commercial natural gas and electricity contracts while helping improve operational workflows that support exceptional customer service.
Beyond contract administration, you'll collaborate across departments, solve operational challenges, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our business.

What You'll Do
Contract Administration & Processing
- Processing commercial natural gas and electricity contracts accurately and efficiently, with relation to the territory.
- Review customer contracts agreements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and supplier requirements.
- Review and confirm customer information, in relation to supporting documentation before submission.
- Monitor contract status from submission through completion and proactively resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely contract execution.
Operational Analysis
- Analyze contract activity and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare, Maintain and update reports on a daily basis, using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to streamline operations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and reduce errors.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve customer experience and operational excellence.
- Proactively monitor key operational metrics and drive improvements that maximize efficiency, accuracy and overall performance excellence
Operational Problem Solving
- Investigate contract-related issues and identify root causes.
- Develop practical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proactively identify recurring issues and recommend preventative measures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Operations to ensure seamless contract processing.
- Build strong working relationships across departments to improve communication and operational efficiency.
- Act as a trusted operational resource for internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain precise documentation of operational procedures and workflows to ensure consistency and audit-readiness.
- Continuously update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect evolving processes, ensuring teams operate from current, accurate guidance.
- Assist with training team members on new procedures and operational best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable industry requirements is achieved and consistently maintained.

Qualifications
Required
- Postsecondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in contract administration, operations, customer service, utilities, energy, finance, or a related administrative role.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high output, performance driven environment.
- Positive attitude with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.
Preferred
Experience with any of the following is considered an asset:
- Commercial energy, utilities, telecommunications, insurance, financial services, or contract administration.
- CRM or Contract Management Systems.
- Microsoft Power BI.
- Process mapping or workflow improvement.
- Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
