Estimator
Location: 1407 8 St, Nisku AB
Job Type: Full-Time,
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
About the Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting project planning and execution. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while being able to multitask.
Responsibilities
- Review customer-supplied drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Prepare accurate material, labor, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and other estimating tools.
- Develop and maintain estimate spreadsheets and cost tracking documents in Excel.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal team members regarding project requirements.
- Assist with preparing quotations, bids, and project proposals.
- Maintain organized records of estimates and project documentation.
- Support project teams during project handoff and execution.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Bluebeam for drawing review and quantity takeoffs.
- Ability to read and interpret customer-supplied drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accuracy in estimates.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
Preferred
- Experience with CAD software and drawing creation/modification (considered an asset but not required).
- Construction, fabrication, or manufacturing industry experience.
