Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to support large-scale construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision on every job site. Your expertise will help drive project success, from excavation to paving, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to project specifications. Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, rock trucks, packers, and fuel and lube trucks with precision and safety awareness
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Assist with site preparation including grading, excavation, and earthmoving activities
- Coordinate with team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Use machinery and other brands proficiently for various tasks including material handling and site leveling
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, rock trucks, packer, and water/lube trucks.
- Key Equipment to be Operated:
- Excavators: Operating excavators of various sizes for trenching, sub-cuts, and drainage improvements.
- Dozers: Operating Dozers (with GPS) for pushing earth materials and rough grading.
- Graders: Operating Graders (with GPS) for final grading and shaping subbase/base gravel.
- Rock Trucks: Operating Rock Trucks for hauling excavated materials and borrow pit aggregates to designated stockpile or fill areas.
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5)
- Class 1A is an Asset
- Demonstrated construction experience with a focus on safety and efficiency in demanding environments
- Familiarity with equipment brands is highly desirable
- Knowledge of earthmoving techniques and site preparation processes is a plus
- Prior experience working on large-scale construction projects involving heavy equipment operation is preferred
Work Schedule and Logistics:
Location of Project: Key Lake, SK
- Rotation: 14 days on, 7 days off.
- Shift: 12-hour shifts
- Travel: Ground transportation provided via shuttle bus from Saskatoon to the project site or via helicoptor from Saskatoon.
- Accommodation: Construction camp and lodging will be provided.
