The Opportunity:
The purpose of the Equipment Operator position is to assist in the construction of rural long haul fibre optic and urban FTTP - Fibre to the Premise networks.
This position works outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
What You Will be Doing:
Working as a part of a team to install fibre optic cable and conduit
Working with direction drill and cable plow crews.
Equipment operation: Cable plow, dozer, backhoe, directional drill, skidsteer, mini-ex etc.
Landscape repair and remediation
Ability to perform routine maintenance work as required is an asset
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
What You Need to Succeed:
Valid Drivers' License
Experience operating construction and/or landscaping equipment is an asset
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Nice to have:
Experience in a telecom or utilities environment
Experience running construction or earthworks equipment.
Ability to perform minor mechanical maintenance
