About Northwood Landscaping
Northwood Landscaping is a family-run landscape construction company serving Surrey and the Lower Mainland. We specialize in high-quality paver installations, patios, walkways, retaining walls, natural stonework and site preparation.
We’re hiring an experienced crew member who can contribute on-site right away. This is not an entry-level position. We’re looking for someone who understands proper excavation, grading, base preparation and hardscape installation, and who takes pride in clean, accurate work built to last.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing interlocking pavers, natural stone and retaining-wall systems
- Completing excavation, grading, base preparation and compaction
- Setting proper grades and drainage slopes
- Screeding, measuring and making accurate cuts
- Reading and working from site plans and project specifications
- Operating plate compactors, concrete saws and other hardscape tools
- Assisting with the safe operation and care of equipment
- Keeping job sites clean, organized and safe
- Helping guide less-experienced crew members when required
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of hands-on landscape construction or hardscape experience
- Proven experience installing pavers and retaining walls
- A good understanding of excavation, base preparation, grading and drainage
- Ability to work accurately with grades, slopes and measurements
- Experience safely using hardscape tools and equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well with a crew
- Valid driver’s licence
Experience That Is an Asset
- Mini-excavator or skid-steer operation
- Concrete or masonry saw operation
- Natural-stone installation
- Crew-lead or supervisory experience
- Trailer towing
