To be a successful Service Advisor in our light duty, diesel repair shop, you must be able to quickly establish a strong rapport and communicate effectively and honestly with both customers and employees. A strong understanding of automotive technology and parts, along with a passion and/or interest in diesel trucks are an asset for this position. You also need to be able to think on your feet and manage your time effectively.
As the Service Advisor you will be responsible for liaising between our customers and shop foreman. You will ensure excellent customer service by welcoming customers, answering phones, listening to requests, determining their vehicle issues and problems, scheduling appointments, preparing customer quotes and establishing a repair timeline. You will work side by side with our current Service Advisor and closely with shop foreman to ensure vehicles are repaired in a timely fashion in accordance to the customers' needs. As one of our Service Advisors, you will oversee the sourcing and ordering of parts and will consult closely with technicians to obtain an accurate repair description.
Automotive Service Advisor Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Professional post-secondary schooling in any automotive related field or trade is a bonus
- A love of diesel trucks and/or a desire to learn
- Organized, honest and reliable with excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A proven track record of excellent customer service
- Automotive Service Technician Training would be a huge asset
