About the Role
Paloma Pressure Control is looking for a skilled and safety-focused Valve Technician to join our team. The Valve Technician will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, testing, and maintaining pressure-control valves and related equipment used in oil and gas operations.
This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the importance of safe work practices, and is comfortable working in shop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, repair, rebuild, and test valves and pressure-control equipment.
- Disassemble and reassemble valves and related components according to manufacturer and company specifications.
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective components and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Perform pressure testing and function testing of valves and equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Complete inspection reports, service records, work orders, and other required documentation accurately.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow all company, client, and industry safety procedures.
- Support field service operations and travel to customer locations when required.
- Work effectively with technicians, supervisors, customers, and other field personnel.
- Perform other duties related to valve and pressure-control equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with valves, pressure-control equipment, or oil and gas equipment is preferred.
- Mechanical or industrial maintenance experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in shop and field environments and travel as required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
