Job Overview
Personal Attendant (Direct Funding Program) Part-Time | Late Afternoons & Evenings
Pay: Up to CA$24.96 per hour
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated individual to assist a self-manager through the Direct Funding Program. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, respectful, and committed to supporting independent living.
Schedule: Late afternoons and evenings available shifts Tuesdays and Fridays - 3 hours per shift. Saturdays and/or Sundays up to 3 hours (prefer between 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.) and maybe more depending on activities and appointments. (specific hours to be discussed)
Location: South East London (near East Park)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care support, including but not limited to: Bathing, grooming, dressing and undressing.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties
- Support with light meal preparation
- Help with grocery shopping and errands
- Accompany to occasional medical appointments
- Assist with range of motion exercises
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in personal care or support work preferred
- PSW certification is an asset but not required
- Willingness to learn and a positive, “will-do” attitude are essential
- Compassionate, respectful, and patient approach
- Ability to follow directions and respect routines
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
Work Environment & Requirements:
- Must be able to maintain a scent-free environment (no perfumes, scented lotions, smoke free etc.)
- Employment screening will require a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Willingness to follow health and safety protocols, including masking to prevent COVID-19 (masks are provided on the job)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a low-to-the-ground vehicle willing to transport is an asset
