Equipment Operator
Company Overview
We are a growing construction company specializing in civil, marine, and structural infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating construction equipment while supporting project schedules, quality requirements, and site safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, telehandlers, compactors, and other construction equipment as required.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, material handling, and site preparation activities.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and site instructions.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
- Identify and report equipment deficiencies and maintenance requirements.
- Work closely with foremen, project managers, labourers, and trades personnel to coordinate site activities.
- Maintain production targets while ensuring work is completed safely and to specification.
- Assist with general site duties when equipment operation is not required.
- Follow company safety policies, safe work procedures, and project quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience in civil or construction environments.
- Experience operating excavators, loaders, and skid steers.
- Ability to perform fine grading and work safely around underground and overhead utilities.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety requirements.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Experience on bridge, marine, infrastructure, or municipal projects is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License.
- Occupational First Aid certification.
- Confined Space Entry certification.
- Fall Protection certification.
- Equipment-specific certifications or training records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, enter, and exit equipment safely throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform occasional manual labour and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime and Saturday's as required
Work Location: Various project sites throughout British Columbia. Currently filling roles for a project 1 hour North of Dawsons Creek at the Peace River Clayhurst Bridge.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
