OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the position is responsible for a mix of accounts payable and financial reporting duties. Day to day you will ensure efficient and timely processing of invoices/expenses along with supporting the accounting team with preparation of working papers for accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifying and posting vendor invoices in accordance with company policies
- Reconciling vendor accounts, responding to internal and external inquiries, investigate discrepancies
- Verifying and processing employee expenses in accordance with company policies
- Payment processing, cheques and electronic payment preparation
- Data management and document retention
- Preparation of Balance Sheet G/L reconciliations (Prepaids, Intercompany, Fixed Assets Etc.)
- Preparation of accruals and basic journal entry support
- Prepare and analyze financial results, providing meaningful commentary and recommendations
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to support reporting needs
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, systems improvements, and other projects and tasks as assigned
- Accounts Receivable relief coverage
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent in Accounting
- Enrolled in CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
- 1-3 years of related accounting experience with a manufacturing environment
- Accounts Payable experience required
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP B1 an asset)
- Proficient MS Office Skills (Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, be flexible and adaptable to ongoing change
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- This position requires successful completion of a clear background check prior to start date
- In Office position, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
- Minimum starting salary $55,000
- Reimbursement of tuition and professional fees
