The Community Addiction and Mental Health Clinic (CAMHC) – Northwest (NW) is an adult outpatient clinic providing recovery and goal-directed assessment and treatment that is time-effective for individuals with moderate to severe addiction and mental health concerns. We are focused on providing client and family centered care, as well as recovery focused treatment. The client and their treatment team will work together in developing a treatment plan with specific goals that will support their client in their journey towards recovery. CAMHC – NW offers a multidisciplinary team approach. Reporting to the Program Manager of NW Campus, Mental Health Therapist (MHT) works independently as a member of a multi-disciplinary team at the NW clinic, providing evidence-informed and best practices in assessment, provisional diagnosis, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, clinical consultation, education and referral sources for clients, their families as appropriate and follow up to mental health patients. This is an advanced mental health role required to perform the restricted activity of Psychosocial Interventions to address the full range of addiction and mental health issues. The MHT supports clients as they move into and out of Outpatient Clinics. The MHT collaborates with the client and the medical home (e.g. primary care provider) to facilitate the seamless transition of clients to the medical home.
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
