About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to support the planning and execution of modular equipment manufacturing projects within the oil and gas sector. This position is intended for a highly organized planning professional who can develop and maintain project schedules, track production performance, prepare management reports, and support schedule recovery initiatives.
This is a flexible, part-time engagement requiring only a few hours per week, depending on project demands. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, operations, and project management personnel to ensure project schedules accurately reflect manufacturing progress and project priorities.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Create production plans and schedule forecasts to support manufacturing activities.
- Track project progress, productivity, earned progress, and schedule performance.
- Generate project reports, schedule dashboards, progress updates, forecasting reports, and recovery plans.
- Analyze schedule impacts, critical path activities, and project risks.
- Support schedule recovery and mitigation planning when delays or constraints are identified.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and project management teams to collect progress information and maintain schedule accuracy.
- Assist with planning activities related to modularized and packaged equipment projects.
- Conduct periodic site visits to gather production data, verify progress, and validate schedule updates.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong experience generating project reports and utilizing scheduling software reporting functions.
- Experience tracking productivity, project progress, forecasting, and schedule recovery plans.
- Strong understanding of critical path methodology, project scheduling, and production planning.
- Experience working with oil and gas projects, fabrication facilities, manufacturing operations, or modular equipment projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently within a flexible consulting environment.
Industry Experience Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Oil & Gas facilities and equipment projects.
- Modular equipment fabrication and assembly.
- Packaged equipment integration.
- Manufacturing and fabrication environments.
- EPC/EPCM project execution and project controls.
Work Model
The position will follow a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will be required to spend approximately 5–7 working days onsite during project startup to become familiar with manufacturing processes, production workflows, project requirements, and data collection methods.
Following the onboarding period, work may be performed primarily remotely. Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility in the Edmonton area will be required throughout the engagement to collect project data, verify progress, maintain schedule accuracy, and support reporting requirements.

Pay: $45.00-$75.00 per hour
