JAbout the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Drilling Locator to join our HDD crew and support the safe, accurate installation of underground utilities. If you’re experienced with locating equipment, thrive in a fast-paced outdoor environment, and take pride in precision work, this role is built for you. You will also be required to work on other functions of the business, as in cable placing etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and interpret readings from locating systems (e.g., DigiTrak, Subsite) to guide drill operators.
- Communicate bore path, depth, and steering adjustments clearly and consistently.
- Assist with planning bore routes, identifying obstacles, and ensuring compliance with job specifications.
- Perform pre- and post-bore walkouts to verify utility locates and site conditions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of bore logs, depths, and as-built information.
- Support the drilling crew with setup, mud mixing, cleanup, and general labor as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe jobsite environment.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience as a drilling locator (HDD) preferred.
- Strong understanding of underground utilities and safe digging practices.
- Proficiency with locating equipment such as DigiTrak F5/F2, Subsite, or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, and utility locates.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
