Maintenance Technician II
Position: Full-Time Temporary (3-Months, with a potential of extension)
Location: Grande Spirit Foundation (Service across assigned housing portfolio)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (75 hours per pay period)
Compensation: $29.65 - $35.77 per hour
Role Overview
Maintenance Technician II is responsible for delivering efficient, high-quality building maintenance services across our housing portfolio. This role requires an individual who excels at independent work, demonstrates technical proficiency, and possesses a genuine commitment to supporting the well-being of seniors and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- General Maintenance: work on projects and perform repairs in and around housing units; plumbing, carpentry, and construction-based tasks and duties
- Equipment Care: Operate and perform basic maintenance on equipment safely and efficiently.
- Technical Excellence: Proven experience in general building maintenance or construction.
- Operational Readiness: Ability to work independently with limited supervision and participate in a 24/7 rotational on-call schedule.
- Physical Capability: Capable of safely performing manual tasks, including bending, lifting, climbing, and operating maintenance equipment.
- Service Excellence: Exceptional patience, communication, and organizational skills, with a professional approach to interacting with residents and staff.
- Flexibility: Availability for weekend morning snow removal and occasional overtime as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Experience: 5 years in the building/construction industry (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Assets: Willingness to pursue further training
- Requirements: Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Clearance: Must successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
- Certifications: WHMIS, First Aid, with CPR.
