The Opportunity:
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Material Handler to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficient material distribution, inventory movement, and equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading & Unloading Operations: Play a hands-on role in keeping our supply chain moving smoothly by loading, unloading, and transporting materials—including large reels of conduit and fiber optic cable—safely by hand, forklift, pump cart, or rubber-tire backhoe.
- Equipment Handling & Crew Support: Confidently operate a variety of heavy and warehouse equipment to transport products, while actively assisting crews and contractors with the specific reels and materials they need to conquer their job sites.
- Order Fulfillment & Staging: Take pride in accuracy by picking, packing, staging, and properly putting away customer and internal inventory orders to ensure seamless daily handoffs.
- Inventory Tracking & Management: Keep our stock levels pristine by tracking incoming and outgoing materials through our management software, conducting cycle counts, and performing regular inventory adjustments.
- Yard & Warehouse Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, highly organized, and safe environment across the construction yard and warehouse that fully adheres to company protocols and safety regulations.
- General Support: Step in as a true team player to handle sorting, special tasks, and other operational duties as requested by management and supervisory personnel.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Forklift certification required (with 2 years experience)
- Logistics: 2 years experience (preferred)
- Rubber Tire Backhoe: 2 years experience (required)
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience in the Telecommunications field and related equipment.
- Experience in material handling and working in a construction yard.
- Valid Class G driver’s license.
Skills and Capabilities:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understands and applies all safety rules and requirements to the assigned task/activity.
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions, stay on schedule, adhere to standards, and pay attention to details.
- Ability to work extended hours as required, including overtime and weekends.
