Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and handle administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office operations, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems. Prior experience with dental software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
- Collect payments and process billing transactions at the front desk
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and data entry
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the day
- Handle front desk operations including checking in/out patients and managing correspondence
- Must be able to do recalls and fill up the gaps.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Prior office experience in a healthcare environment is preferred
- Professional demeanor with a friendly attitude and strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
