Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Grocery Manager to support the daily operations of our Eastern European grocery store and deli. We are also a meat manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will assist in managing store activities, and ensuring excellent customer service. Working knowledge of an Eastern European language is not required but will be considered a strong asset. Ideally this candidate will also have deli experience or be willing to be trained in order to help this department during peak times. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills within a dynamic retail environment, contributing to store profitability and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies.
- Manage POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures with accuracy and integrity
- Assist in purchasing and pricing strategies.
- Maintain organizational standards through effective merchandising, store cleanliness, and safety compliance
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities with supervisory experience in retail settings
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills for accurate transactions
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving a diverse customer base
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
