Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook/Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, food preparation and cooking expertise, and a solid understanding of food safety standards. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food quality, and ensuring excellent service to our guests. The Cook/Kitchen Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction within our restaurant or hospitality setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality food preparation
- Oversee food handling, cooking, and presentation to meet safety and quality standards
- Manage inventory, order food and supplies. Manage inventories.
- Develop and implement menu items in collaboration with culinary team
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations related to food safety and sanitation
- Train new staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organization, ensuring adherence to hygiene protocols
- Coordinate with serving staff to deliver exceptional customer service
- Assist in managing restaurant or hospitality operations as needed, including scheduling and team management
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Food preparation and cooking skills with knowledge of various cuisines
- Previous food service experience demonstrating leadership capabilities in a hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Experience managing restaurant operations or kitchen teams is highly desirable
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices, including inventory control and staff training
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
