Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage freight shipments efficiently. The ideal candidate will oversee daily dispatch operations, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role is vital in maintaining smooth supply chain operations and supporting our logistics team in delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch schedules for freight shipments, ensuring optimal routing and timing.
- Utilize transportation management systems such as SyteLine and AS400 to track shipments, update statuses, and manage documentation.
- Communicate with drivers, clients, and vendors via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Enter data accurately into shipping & receiving databases, maintaining up-to-date records of freight movements.
- Analyze shipment data to identify delays or issues and implement solutions promptly.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, including freight manifests and delivery confirmations.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams and 3PL providers to streamline operations and resolve logistical challenges.
- Monitor freight movements, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Experience
- Must have Previous experience in transportation management or logistics coordination preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Loadlink, DAT, BorderConnect, Accounts Receivables or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret shipment data and optimize dispatch processes.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Experience working with freight carriers, shipping & receiving procedures, and supply chain operations is a plus.
