Role Summary
Reporting to the Site Foreman, the Labourer will be responsible for performing assigned job site tasks. Based out of our construction sites in Charlottetown and surrounding area, this role will perform various manual labour tasks including shovelling, raking, and heavy lifting while ensuring site safety.
What You’ll Do
- Clean and prepare sites as directed by assigned Supervisor.
- Help equipment operators, and other skilled labour when necessary.
- Conduct various manual labour tasks as required.
- Assist pipe crew with manual tasks in trenches.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Safely operate various hand tools.
- Clean and maintain construction equipment appropriately.
- Load and unload equipment and materials from trucks and move to respective work areas.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and Island Coastal’s Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support Management in implementing solutions OR report to Management when required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- 1+ years general labour experience in a construction environment considered an asset.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a physically demanding role in various locations and climate extremes.
- Must be able to work Full-Time until mid-December.
- Must have a valid drivers license and own transportation.
Pay: From $19.44 per hour
