The Comfort Inn is looking to hire a team member for Front Desk position.
Hotel experience is preferred. Must be available to work on weekends.
Must be willing to train on all hotel shifts.
Front Desk Agent Duties
1. Guest Check‑In Procedures
- Verify government‑issued ID and confirm reservation details.
- Confirm room type, rate, number of guests, and payment method.
- Process pre‑authorization or payment as required.
- Issue room keys securely after verifying identity.
- Provide hotel information: breakfast hours, Wi‑Fi, amenities, parking, and policies.
- Ensure registration card is signed and accurately completed.
2. Guest Check‑Out Procedures
- Confirm guest identity before accessing folio.
- Review charges, process payments, and provide a receipt.
- Ask about the stay and document any feedback.
- Update room status to “Vacant/Dirty” and notify housekeeping.
3. Reservation & System Management
- Create, modify, and cancel reservations in the PMS.
- Verify third‑party bookings and ensure accurate rate/room type mapping.
- Maintain accurate arrival, departure, and in‑house lists.
- Monitor room inventory and communicate overbooking risks to management.
4. Guest Service & Issue Resolution
- Greet all guests promptly and professionally.
- Respond to requests, questions, and concerns with courtesy.
- Document guest issues and follow escalation procedures when needed.
- Coordinate with housekeeping or maintenance to resolve problems quickly.
5. Payment & Financial Responsibilities
- Process credit, debit, and cash transactions accurately.
- Verify credit card authenticity and follow security protocols.
- Post charges, adjustments, and refunds according to policy.
- Balance cash and complete shift deposit envelopes.
6. Phone, Email & Communication Handling
- Answer calls within three rings using approved greeting.
- Transfer calls appropriately and take accurate messages.
- Respond to guest emails professionally and within required timeframes.
- Maintain clear communication with all departments.
7. Room Key & Security Control
- Issue keys only after verifying guest identity.
- Maintain key logs and secure backup keys.
- Report any suspicious activity immediately.
- Follow emergency procedures and document incidents.
8. Housekeeping & Maintenance Coordination
- Update room statuses in real time.
- Communicate rush cleans, stayovers, and special requests.
- Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up until resolved.
- Ensure rooms are ready for arrivals before check‑in time.
9. Shift Documentation & Handover
- Complete daily checklists and required logs.
- Record incidents, guest complaints, and unresolved issues.
- Communicate important notes to the next shift and management.
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and guest‑ready.
10. Loyalty Program Support
- Enroll guests in the loyalty program.
- Explain benefits, point posting, and promotions.
- Ensure member numbers are correctly added to reservations.
11. Lobby Presence & Professional Conduct
- Maintain a welcoming, attentive presence in the lobby.
- Greet guests entering the building.
- Keep the front desk tidy and professional at all times.
Pay: $20.24-$21.90 per hour
