Job Summary
Trillium Trails Banquet & Conference Centre is looking for experienced, hardworking and friendly Banquet Servers to join our events team.
Trillium Trails is a unique indoor and outdoor wedding and event venue, hosting wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate events, bridal and baby showers, birthday celebrations and other social events.
Our outdoor event space can accommodate approximately 200–300 guests, while our indoor event space can accommodate approximately 150 guests.
We are looking for team members who are energetic, professional, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment. This is a hands-on position involving event setup, food and beverage service, guest service and cleanup.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, friendly and courteous service to guests.
- Serve plated meals efficiently and professionally.
- Carry large serving trays with up to 5 plated meals safely and confidently.
- Assist with buffet setup, food replenishment and buffet service.
- Set up tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, glassware, napkins and other event items.
- Assist with indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony and reception setup.
- Clear plates, glassware and tables throughout the event.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces throughout the function.
- Follow event timelines and instructions provided by the Banquet Captain or Event Manager.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, supervisors and other servers.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests.
- Assist with event setup before functions and complete cleanup after events.
- Reset the venue and event spaces following each function.
- Assist with moving tables, chairs and event equipment when required.
- Maintain professional appearance and service standards at all times.
Requirements
- Previous banquet, wedding, catering or high-volume serving experience is required.
- Must have experience carrying large trays and be capable of safely carrying up to 5 plated meals.
- Must be fast, active and comfortable working in a busy event environment.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Friendly, professional and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a banquet team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday events, including evenings and late nights.
- Valid driver's licence is required for catering and outdoor events.
- Smart Serve certification is an asset.
