Role Summary
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Material Preparation Associate (Kitting) to help keep our flavour warehouse organized and production running smoothly. In this role, you’ll prepare and move bulk ingredients, follow recipes and batch sheets with accuracy, and operate equipment safely. If you’re comfortable with hands-on work, math and measurements, and can thrive in a warehouse environment, we’d love to have you on the Black Fly team!
Key Responsibilities
- Work with inventory to map/organize the flavour warehouse and keep it up to date.
- Prepare and stage bulk ingredients on pallets using FIFO for up coming production.
- Accurately complete batch sheets and record lot numbers.
- Put all the partials ingredients for the up coming production on a pallet for the mixing team to weigh out.
- Deliver prepared pallets to mixing areas as required.
- Ensure returned ingredients are weighed before returning them to the inventory team.
- Collect juice and other ingredients needed from the cooler.
- Verify batch sheets are correct prior to production.
- Move flammable materials into the explosion proof containers and bring materials back in as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
Experience:
- Prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing is an asset; forklift experience preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to follow recipes and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Strong math skills for weights and measurements.
- Mechanical aptitude to operate pumps and basic tools.
- Ability to perform in-process quality checks.
- Basic computer knowledge and comfort with documentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly and perform physical work such as bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Comfortable working in wet, dusty, and noisy warehouse environments.
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety footwear.
Schedule:
- This position will work a night shift, 11 pm to 7 am, Monday to Friday
