The Role:
For our Sewermain, Watermain and Paving Division, we are looking for an experienced Project Coordinator who will oversee sewer, watermain and restoration operations in the Mississauga and Brampton area. The role involves a combination of office work for day-to-day communication, scheduling, documentation, tracking, invoicing inputs and onsite work for coordination with inspectors, clients, construction sub trades and consultants. The ideal candidate would have the relevant experience overseeing projects for servicing underground utilities, sewer and watermain installation, excavation, roadworks, and site restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan on a daily basis jobs to be completed for sewer, storm, sanitary, watermain, roadworks, excavation, grading, and site servicing.
- Schedule jobs received with inhouse team and subtrades by actively planning and executing construction timelines and schedules
- Monitor project site, to ensure compliance with owner’s standards, specifications and industry best practices
- Assist with procurement for order of materials by corresponding with suppliers and making all material available to the construction team in a timely manner
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients for successful completion of construction operations
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate deficiency walks and rectifications
- Track jobs, production rates, labour, material, equipment and subtrades utilization to assist with Invoicing.
- Maintaining proper and accurate project documentation
- Review changes, claims, extras, and project cost impacts
- Assist other infrastructure teams with Regular and emergency sewermain and site restoration activities.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Construction site experience in Municipal underground infrastructure, sewer, watermain, site servicing, roadworks.
- Proven experience of overseeing project sites and construction activities
- Experience of coordination and communication with all project stakeholders - subtrades, suppliers and field teams as well as consultants, inspectors and client.
- Strong understanding of civil construction sequencing, underground utility installation, trenching, backfill, compaction, testing, tie-ins, and municipal inspection requirements.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to meet and adhere to deadlines and work under strict time constraints
