About The Shield
The Shield is SDR Academy’s best-on-best hockey series for high-level female players born from 2012 to 2015 for next year.
We are looking for a highly connected British Columbia representative to identify, recruit and register top female hockey players for upcoming Shield events.
This is not a general sales position. The successful applicant must already understand the BC female hockey landscape and have genuine relationships with players, parents, coaches, teams, associations, spring programs or prep schools.
What You’ll Do
- Identify high-level BC female athletes born from 2012 to 2015
- Build and manage a recruiting pipeline across British Columbia
- Connect directly with families, coaches, managers, associations and hockey programs
- Introduce qualified players and families to The Shield
- Book and host information calls
- Answer parent questions and explain the registration and selection process
- Follow up with leads and convert qualified prospects into applications, tryouts and registrations
- Maintain accurate records using Google Sheets or a CRM
- Report weekly on leads, conversations, applications and registrations
- Assist with BC tryouts, identification camps or events when available
Required Experience
Applicants must have:
- Strong existing connections within the BC female hockey community
- Current knowledge of high-level 2011 to 2014 female hockey players
- Familiarity with the strongest AA, AAA, spring and prep-school programs in BC
- Relationships with coaches, parents, managers, scouts, associations or program directors
- Knowledge of the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley hockey markets
- Strong communication, sales and follow-up skills
- The ability to work independently and manage a recruiting territory
- Experience using Google Sheets, a CRM or another lead-tracking system
Applicants without current knowledge of the top female players, teams and programs in British Columbia will not be considered.
Nice to Have
- Connections on Vancouver Island or in the Okanagan and Interior
- Previous hockey recruiting, coaching, scouting, sales or team-management experience
- Experience working with female hockey players and their families
- Experience assisting with camps, tournaments, tryouts or player identification events
Compensation
This is a retainer based + bonus contractor position.
The compensation structure, registration incentives, expectations and territory targets will be finalized during the interview process.
