We are currently accepting resumes for a local Fuel & Lube Technician (Combo Truck Operator) for a safety-sensitive position that is motivated, committed and wants to grow with us. The Technician will work 12-hour days on a rotation of 6 on followed by 6 off (3 day shifts followed by 3 night shifts) starting at 7:30.
Accommodations are not provided for this position, however Commuter Supports are being provided for this position if you are NOT local to Fort McMurray. Transportation is provided from multiple locations within Fort McMurray. You are responsible to get to the pick-up/drop-off location.

Fuel & Lube Technicians are responsible for refueling, lubricating and topping up fluids on Syncrude and their contractor’s fleet. In order to meet the demands of this position effectively, technicians must be able to:
- Adhere to and comply with all safety and environmental policies and initiatives
- Complete hazard assessments to a high standard acceptable by OH&S
- Prioritize correct order of equipment to refuel
- Inspect and document damage and defects
- Perform minor maintenance
- Cross-train to cover off positions/expectations
Fuel & Lube Technicians in the Oil Sands will earn a base rate of $35.85 - $37.85/hour
+ 6.5% of gross earnings for hours worked
+ Commuter Supports (up to $1,000/month) for individuals commuting to the region to work
+ Compensation Package Extras: Matching RRSP program, vacation pay, sick time benefits, group benefits (life, critical illness & disability insurance, extended health, dental, vision), allowances (location, boot), bonus structure and transportation to and from site
What We Need From You:
- Experience in the Oil Sands is ideal
- ADVANCED CLASS 5 DRIVERS LICENSE with a clean driver's abstract
- Must be willing to work shift work (day & night shifts on a rotation)
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Previous experience in a Fuel & Lube Division and/or have operated an Articulated Rock Truck or a Fuel & Lube Combo Truck
- Collaborative communication style
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to complete a Respirator Fit test and don a mask at any time while at work, which also means compliance with facial hair requirements to ensure a complete seal for the mask
As part of our Hiring Process, YOU will be asked to:
- Provide an Advanced Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
- Provide a criminal record check
- Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result
- Complete a fitness evaluation related specifically to your position
- Provide copies of current certifications (if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it for you)
