Field / Shop Technician – Edmonton, Alberta
Mike’s Ignition specializes in ignitions for the natural gas industry. We are looking to hire a likeminded individual to expand our business and provide outstanding customer service.
Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to our customers on the products we sell and service. Needs a mechanical aptitude with the knowledge of how a large stationary engine works (Waukesha, CAT, White Superior, Clark, Arrow).
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Technician is responsible for but not limited to day-to-day field and shop maintenance services within the oil and gas industry.
Do in shop fabrication of harnesses for ignition pyrometers, ignitions, control harnesses as well as control interface harnesses. Assist with customer equipment repairs in the shop. Complete warranty repairs in addition to troubleshooting equipment performance issues.
The field installation of ignition, pyrometer, detonation, annunciator panels and AFR systems. You will work in compressor buildings as well as remote field trailer sites. Overtime will be required from time to time depending on the work and timeline. There will be occasional travel, and overnight hotel stays depending on the location and duration of the work required.
Technician will gain experience working on large stationary and portable natural gas equipment. They will observe commissioning and installation of the ignition systems we have manufactured and supplied.
Safety is a priority, and the selected individual will comply with all company quality and Health and Safety work procedures.
